The Kent Historical Society will re-open to the public with new hours this Friday, March 3rd. Come visit us any Friday or Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Join KHS and the Preservation Group, Sunday, November 6th, 2:00 to 4:00 PM, as we remove leaves and generally clean up our historic cemetery. Please bring rakes and other gardening supplies. Refreshments will be provided following the clean up.

Guests will be guided through the museum's newest exhibit by the knowledgeable retired pharmacist of Kent's Thompson's Drugs.

Come see the many artifacts from former downtown drugstores. This event is family friendly, free and open to the public. The exhibit will be up for people to enjoy through 2024. The museum is open on Friday and Saturday 9 AM to 2 PM and by appointment.

The Kent Historical Society Museum will hold its annual Victorian Holiday Open House, free to the public, from 10 AM to 1 PM Saturday, December 7 at 237 E. Main St. Visitors can make holiday crafts, enjoy hot cocoa while decorating gingerbread cookies or listen to a performance by the KSU Men's Chorus from 11 am until noon.

In spite of the wet, chilly weather on Thursday (6-13-19), members of Main Street Kent enjoyed food and conversation at their annual awards party, held in KHS Museum (Clapp-Woodard house). Congratulations to all of the award winners! On Tuesday, May 7th, Sophie Bednar was awarded the Kent Historical Society Roger Di Paolo Scholarship. The scholarship was established this year to honor Roger Di Paolo's many contributions over the years as a journalist, editor and historian. Roger was unable to attend the banquet so his son, Brian, was there in his place. KHS was thrilled to announce Sophie as the first recipient as she is a wonderful young women with a very bright future. Sophie plans to attend Kent State University in the fall.

The Kent Historical Society Museum’s newest two-part exhibit - “Views of Kent by Local Artists” and “Treasures from the Attic” - gives art and artifacts typically tucked away in storage a chance to shine under the spot-lights. The public is invited to explore the exhibit during KHS’ spring open house on May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and throughout the summer on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Students become historians as KHS pays a visit to Longcoy Elementary School!
In December, at the Board of Education Meeting, KHS was honored to receive the "Collaborative Organization" award form the Kent City Schools.
Please join us on Monday to honor Kent area Veterans. The events of the day will include a luncheon at the Kent State University Hotel & Conference Center, Veterans Day Ceremony at the PARTA parking deck and lastly a reception and tour at the Kent Historical Society & Museum.
Join us on Saturday, December 1st from 10 AM to 1 PM for a Victorian Holiday Event. Come see the beautiful decorations, hear the extremely talented KSU Men's Chorus sing and browse through our exhibits and displays. There will be crafts and cookies for kids and the event is FREE!

Multiple Locations
On September 17th and 18th, KHS lead guided tours around many historic locations in Kent honoring Marvin Kent prior to his 200th birthday. The tour featured locations such as Kent Masonic Center and Erie Depot.
