The public is invited to explore the exhibit during KHS’ spring open house on May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Since one aspect of the attic treasures exhibit focuses on the history of Kent dairies, guests will be served free samples of Kent-made ice cream from Popped!
Many historical societies have artifacts that rarely fit into exhibits, yet are worthy of both preservation and display. And KHS is no different, thanks to decades of donations from generous supporters.
The exhibit idea, born during a winter attic organization project, led KHS Trustees Tom Hatch, Jean Booth and Kasha Legeza on numerous “scavenger hunts” throughout the museum in search of items to feature.
